Product Design Solutions

A mountain may seem like a challenge, until you understand the different paths to the solution.

About Me

I’m Rachael Anne Mackie, a fourth year product design student with a focus on problem solving through thoughtful, purposeful design.

My work aims to design solutions that are simpler, smarter and effective, by exploring new ways to approach complex challenges through the use of thoughtful, purposeful design.

Past Projects

Blending two contrasting brand identities, Croc and Carmex, in order to generate a playful, disruptive product narrative.

Design For Disability

The Edinburgh Gin Project

The above product explores the extension of Nintendo, creating a new category of power tools inspired by gaming controllers while remaining aligned with their core brand values.

Through ongoing development, I am strengthening my skills in research, ideation and concept development to build a practice grounded in curiosity, adaptability and purposeful innovation. As I continue to explore new methods and perspectives, which will shape my identity as a designer to look past the obvious and seek alternative paths that make solutions more intuitive and effective.
